Disregard my last review
I was reviewing another seller and accidentally posted to this one. My mistake. This Solenoid arrived right on time and as advertised. It was easy to install (I watched a youtube video). My only suggestion is that it should come with new screws since the reason this needs replacing is often because of rust from moisture. My screws were so rusted I didnt want to use them again. I had to go the the hardware store to get new ones.

Works well and it’s relatively easy to install.
After watching a YouTube video, I successfully replaced the old one that wasn’t working. I did this job for the first time and it was relatively easy, saving a call to an appliance technician.

GE Ice-Maker “motor”
Let me tell you, knowing the name of a part before searching makes it so much easier seeing how I was looking for a GE Ice-maker motor and this part definitely was not in the search results! Anyhoo, I chose this company and price because the picture included the weight thingie next to the Solenoid and the cheaper prices did not. Part ordered Sunday night and arrived Tuesday properly boxed and wrapped. Oh, my problems. I had the midnight thirsties and went to the fridge for some apple juice and noticed a puddle of water on the floor. I had problems in the past with the ice maker flapper and replaced it....it still didn’t work perfectly by not closing all the way without me manually putting my hand in there to close it. At this point I did what every homegrown handyman does.....did a search on youtube for leaking ice-maker. Long story short, I found a tuber with the right info and took apart the whole ice maker assembly and here is what I found....the ice-maker “motor” thingie was rusted all to hell. This made me think....why in the world would GE use a part that so easily rusted in a wet environment....yeah, I came to the same conclusion.....rip us off. Finally after all this heavy thinking I easily replaced the solenoid and amazingly put everything back together without having extra parts left over or breaking anything. One more oh yeah almost forgot, turns out I did not have a water leak, the tray below the ice dispenser overflowed ..... I was getting water for coffee the previous morning and not paying attention, filled it up to overflowing by missing the measuring cup I was filling. Hope this helps.

it works
easy to replace. if your water through the door is freezing up, this is probably what is wrong. you probably don't need to replace anything but this solenoid to fix it. i got a cheap defrost heater for $5 which i also installed but i'm not sure worked after i installed it as i could not definitively detect the heat it was supposed to produce by touching it after installing it. i haven't had any freezing problems in the water line since i replaced the solenoid, which closes and opens the door flap to allow ice through.

Perfect fit
Great price, was having an issue with the ice door opening on my GE refrigerator, after a little research found the most likely issue was a bad solenoid, installed the new solenoid and it works like a charm.

Fixed
I should have done this years ago. The ice maker discharge door started staying open a few years ago causing the ice bucket to frost up and resulted in a broken auger twice. Replaced door actuator with this unit and voila, everything working good again.
