This item was as described. It was an important material for my son’s science fair magnetic slime. Worked as intended.

The picture from the manufacturer shows actual filings, which are tiny shreds from iron. What I received was magnetic sand. I was buying this as part of a Stem project which requires actual filings and was disappointed that the product description did not match what was received.Update: Company contacted me and issue was resolved. Great customer service.

It’s dirty, but my class loves playing with it! Does what it should. My boys/ students love it.

Used pre-made slime for our magnetic slime, ended up using the whole bag of iron oxide to get a magnetic reaction. Not sure if it was us using the pre-made that causes a low response. Definitely needed a stronger magnets with this kit.

Used it to show magnetic fields. Little hard to clean off the other magnets.

Iron filings work fine.

Never took the time to write an Amazon review before but I had to with this bc I’ve never had anything break within 30 seconds of opening it before. The horseshoe and one of the ring magnets broke in 30 seconds of opening the box. Super disappointed. Came in a package with Chinese lettering on it. Complete junk. We chose this listing bc it came with some magnets we wanted. But turns out they are tiny and junk. Keep scrolling and choose another listing.
