Another interesting continuation of the series
I enjoyed reading this book. I do have to say I'm probably too old to really appreciate this series like I used to but, this was still a fast paced and interesting read. The characters seem way older than being in their 30s and the juvenile language ( like calling people hot) seemed out of place. I feel like a good portion of the book was just explaining how attractive everyone was which is just fluff.

Oh god, I love love loved this book and cannot wait until the next one comes out. I originally preordered this book when I first heard it was an adult continuation of the authors young adult series Blue Bloods. I absolutely loved her Blue Bloods series so I knew this was a book I had to buy. I put off reading it until closer to the release date of book two because I KNEW I would love it, and I was write. The writing was different than her other series, you could definitely tell it was an adult book not a young adult, like her other novels. It changes point of view per chapter. At first, I wasn't sure how I was going to like that but by the end it only made sense why she did it that way. I love how she aged the characters. There were a lot of familiar characters from her old series and it was fantastic to see how they grew, it was really great catching up with old characters. There were also new characters to the series that I really enjoyed. Each chapter of the book left you wanting to continue. There was so much action. The Ventors had a much bigger role and it really delved into their world, their role in the vampire society. It really showed the work they do. This novel definitely fleshed everything out and didn't hide it or cover it like it might have been done in a YA novel.I really like how they played out vampire books in the red blood world (non-vamps), I don't wanna say much on it though because I don't want to spoil much about the book! The overall plot of the book was fantastic. I don't want to say much on my favorite parts to it, though, as to keep away from spoiling. The epilogue was really good, definitely glad the two characters in the epilogue will be playing a bigger role in the second book.I definitely one of my favorite books I've read so far this year and I am so excited to read book two

You know I'm in a love hate relationship with the whole BB series but obviously there's something good about it since I just bought and read this first spin off book. The first 80% of the book was hard to get into (it took me three times longer to read than any book I've ever read) and then the last 20% was so awesome I was mad it was over. My problem is that this is the usual way of it with this author. This could be a great story but I know how it's going to go, the story will go in so many circles I'll be dizzy but it the end I'll get just enough to keep reading. My hope is that Melissa will finish off this series and the witches of east end so I can stop tormenting myself with these over priced books that I only enjoy a small portion of. Like I said I think this story could be great but unfortunately I don't think it's going to be

Not for everyone.
I like the series. I've been following it since the start of these books. I will warn, they are not for everyone. I call this book series my secret little obsession. It's better than twilight, but not by much. It's about wealthy to do vampires in NY. This book in particular is a little bit more grown up. Our characters have grown up and are mostly married and living their lives and find out that there is still some trouble going on with the underworld and the vampires in NY. If you are looking for Schuyler, she is mentioned a few times and that is it. The story follows Oliver and Mimi's stories.

Great book for those who like Melissa de la Cruz's writing syle.
I liked this book. The only drawback for me is I had forgotten all the characters. It took like half way thru the book to figure out that persons storyline because:1 - its been a long time since a book came out in the old series2 - this was the characters grown upAll in all I think the next book in this series will be much better. Probably because I like the author so much.

awesome
I've read the entire Blue Blood series and was so excited when this came out. You don't need to read the entire series to follow because it is a secondary series but I don't think you can fully appreciate it with out reading the entire series. It's very compelling and the new characters are very interesting. But the original characters make the book amazing. You get to see what happened after the last book in the originial series. Don't panic, the originial characters are not immediately introduced but they are in the story. If you enjoy fantasy then Melissa De La Cruz is an amazing author to follow. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Blood is deeper than water
First off love these books of them I love how Mimi and kingsley were able to reconcile their differences and I love the new twists with Ollie though I didn't like that he lost Finn in the end so sad about that and didn't like that sky and Jack made a late appearance now I recommend this book to everybody enough said and I'm late for my break gotta go

Never give up!
I love the fact she decided to take the Blue Bloods to the next level. The ending threw me for a loop. Thank you for that. I would have never guessed.
