Another stunner!!!
Had to wait almost a month to receive book from U.K. but was absolutely worth the wait. It was another spine tingling, nail biting thriller of a phenomenal written. Chris Carter has quickly become one of my all time favorite authors. My only wish would be to be able to buy the rest of his Robert Hunter series in eBook form here in the U.S.A. I don't understand why you can get books 1, 2, 7 and 8 but not the rest of them. It is a truly missed opportunity for a lot of people.

Chris Carter does it again!
I have read every single book by this awesome author and I greedily await every new offering! I was not disappointed. I read this book in one sitting, the only disappointing thing is that I have to wait for his next book! Robert Hunter at his best, as usual!

Yet another gritty read from the master scary story teller
To say I was excited to read this is an understatement. The only problem with Chris Carter’s books is the time it takes for him to write them. And he had huge personal reasons for taking time to complete this one.But it was so worth the wait! It was lovely to catch up with Robert Hunter and Carlos Garcia again. It was like meeting up with old friends. However, very quickly you are into a new horror and holding your breath. This story starts with Angela Wood, an experienced pick pocket, stealing the bag of a serial killer. She knows immediately that this is something she doesn’t want to hold on to, so she passes it on to the department in charge of forensically examining evidence for the LA Police. It soon finds its way onto Hunter’s desk, and so begins this nightmare. This book has less gore than the usual Chris Carter books, but I certainly didn’t miss it. It was replaced by detailed descriptions from the serial killer of the murders he is responsible for. I don’t want to spoil anything for the readers, just let it be said that the murders are shocking and gruesome. Robert seems to have met his match this time.Regular readers will love this book as it is a worthy addition to the series. It is also readable as a stand alone in my opinion. It’s another long wait for me as I wait for number twelve.

Not Recommended— Storyline should be in a comic, along with the characters
I’m dumbfounded that this book is tagged as ‘Times best seller’. Have I just finished the same book? Dreadful from start to finish. It was like reading a boy’s comic.Author’s use the cliffhanger chapter endings to add excitement but when there’s a cliffhanger at the end of every chapter— it gets exceptionally monotonous, as in this case.Angela, a professional pickpocket, ‘lifts’ a man’s bag. Big mistake as the bag contains a diary of murdered people. Hunter, the policeman, investigates. He’s assisted by a cardboard cutout, Garcia. A suspect is identified. What follows is a Tom and Jerry scenario that goes on and on and on........There are only two main characters- Hunter and the suspect, nicknamed Werewolf. There are detailed descriptions of what each of the characters is doing, which is just boy’s own silly. The plot idea is far fetched and ludicrous. Most definitely not recommended. I’ve not read books by this author before and he’s in the avoid pile now. If the book was a paperback, it would be lighting my log fire.

Written in haste
I consider myself a huge Chris Carter fan and have read everyone of his previous books with a speed only matched to Usain Bolt . Written in Blood felt like it was a James Patterson (his name on the book but written by someone else). Still touches of brilliance in parts but it felt so rushed and flat. Virtually every comment explained .Garcia came across as the stupid sidekick , asking for assistance in every breath.Sorely disappointed

Slightly under par...
Don’t get me wrong it’s okay but it’s not quite as good as usual. It lacks the usual punch and drive. It’s worth a read but the storyline suddenly ends in a very silly way. Our super hero cop ends up in a duel (of sorts) with a super efficient and relentless psychopathic killer worse than Lucien (almost) who loses his detailed killing schedule diary in a bar (like you do). Fortunately for everyone this super efficient killer has sudden rush of stupidity to the head and our hero cop saves the day...and some victims of course. It reads like the book was finished in a hurry and it was an easy wrap to the story. (And incidentally an ending he’s kind of used before). It’s a reasonable and fast read but sadly not up to par. Sorry to be negative...

another winner
The book lived up to all my expectations as usual with Chris Carter. I read it over a weekend and absolutely loved it!! I do feel that Robert Hunter may actually look like Chris Carter, as I always find myself picturing him when I read the stories. All his books are fantastic and I find myself loaning them only, (not giving them), to my female friends, and then my daughter. There's something about the way he writes, that instantly draws you in to all the police procedurals and forensic details, in a way that the man in the street can understand. And - there's always a touch of humour at times too. Fantastic and can only be recommended.Condolences also to Chris following his loss. you are in the thoughts and prayers of not only your family and friends, but also in your many fans around the world.
