A very helpful product. Well worth the money.
I bought this to assist in loading my 12 foot kayak onto the top of my 2013 Nissan Rogue. Being relatively short in stature (5"6") and a Senior Citizen, it was a bit of a challenge. However, after buying and using this product, the loading process was 100% easier (almost too easy actually compared to before using it). When applied properly to the rear window, it holds quite strongly. For that to happen, one must be sure to clean the rear window thoroughly! What I do may be overkill, but, it works for me. Before each use, I clean the window with Windex (I would suggest brand loyalty on this one) thoroughly, then, with a different paper towel, go over the window again with Rubbing Alcohol, and allow to dry (takes just a few seconds), then follow the manufacturer's instructions on applying the device. I usually give it a few tugs to assure adherence (the car actually moves) before loading the kayak. Well worth the price. I highly recommend it.

Extremely useful once you deal with its weakness
The suction cups and rollers are excellent, the body is heavy duty. The mechanism to keep the angle from changing is very weak and it collapsed several times during use, causing my kayak to scratch my car pretty badly. (I had a sheet of foam to protect the car just in case, but that slid with the kayak.)I drilled a hole straight through the mechanism and pinned it in place with a through-bolt, and now this thing is great.

Used once- broke immediately!!
Extremely disappointing….used once and immediately broke as soon as pressure applied. Suction to window was fine but the one time use appears to have stripped the tightening mechanism to maintain desired angle to clear roof/ spoiler rendering item completely useless. Anyone interested in buying a uniquely shaped paperweight?… Could not recommend in any manner- if you are looking for a solution to assist in loading kayak, keep looking and continue your search elsewhere.

Just buy it, you won’t regret it!
I have a condition that limits my abilities and so I have found that kayaking is the perfect recreation & form of exercise for me. That being said, I struggle with lifting things over my head sometimes. I purchased a new car this year and needed to purchase a rack system to carry my kayak. I looked all over at different lift assist devices and decided to give this one a try. So far, I am thrilled. The suction is great and it positioned well so that I could lift the kayak up and onto the rack, solo, without damaging my car. My suggestion is use a wet cloth to wipe both the car surface and the suction cup before sticking the cups into place. I couldn’t wiggle it off of my car if I wanted to (and, why would I want to haha 😂). Very grateful for products that make recreation more accessible to all!! 🚣

Works well cap nuts are flimsy plastic
The roller is fairly sturdy and has worked well in hetting our boats on and off the roof. The cap nuts are made of plastic and can come loose or break. When this happens the rollers will slide off the shaft.I replaced the nuts with steel lock nuts from Home Depot.

Makes loading the kayak on the roof of my SUV much easier
Loading the kayak into the J-Racks on top of my SUV was a burden. It took me several tries (with the kayak bouncing off the pavement) to get it up secured. Then I found this little gem. After purchasing this kayak roller load assist device, I can get the kayak up on the first attempt every time. The suction is strong but the rear window on my SUV is curved on the sides. This requires a bit of trial & error to get that side to seal properly. Once it seals, I just push the kayak up (front first) onto the rollers and then straight onto the J-hooks. I then fasten it in place with my straps and all is good. FYI... I had to replace the plastic nuts holding the rollers on with stainless steel locking nuts as the plastic nuts broke the first time I dropped the device.

Not great for Jay style roof racks, but likely easy for flat laying kayak racks.
It just barely works for my application. Maybe will get better with practice. I got this to load my 72lb 15’3” long x 29” wide tandem kayak onto my Yakima Jaylow racks installed on my Honda CR-V. The suction works OK but you must be sure to clean and dry window before each use. For instance, just the short 30 min. drive to the lake meant I had to clean the window again before it would stay stuck when loading my kayak back on. It popped off a number of times while trying to load but I finally got it to stay securely again after more cleaning. However, I’m still worried it might pop off while loading my large kayak again. The entire thing flexes and seems stressed when in use even though it’s new, and I’m not sure how long it will hold up.I think this should work fine without any problems loading if you have a flat style kayak roof rack, but with Jay cradles it is quite tricky and unwieldy to get the kayak to stay centered on its side while rolling. The kayak wants to straighten itself out and then begins to slide off the car while trying to roll up onto the Jay racks. It’s very difficult to keep the kayak on its side and going a straight path. I’m able to do it on my own but it’s not easy. What’s really needed is for this to have a ‘V’ shaped opening at the top instead of being mostly flat. If the bars went up at a 45 degree angle I think this would work great for jay racks and would probably be suitable for any rack types. As it is it’s a little scary for me to use. It’s cheaper than most other similar products available at this time which is enough for me to want to keep it and try to modify my approach. At this price I also might try to modify on my own by adding some extended bars with rollers to the ends of the existing bars. Since the lock nuts come off the ends, I may try this by using steel rods with foam and duct tape wrapped around them. If I’m able to modify to work better for Jay style racks I’ll try to update my post with pictures.

Easy to install and use
Much better concept than a side loader. Well made, reasonably priced and arrived in Australia really quickly.

Broken after 3 uses
The gears that lock it into place are made of cheap plastic. After 3 uses it's already broken, very disappointing I would not recommend.
