Fixed the failed blower motor in my HVAC unit
This appears to be the fix for a lot of HVAC (AC or Heating) units dying out. My thermistor fried and even though the circuit board in the programmable module for the blower motor appeared to be in bad shape, after pulling out the bad thermistor and soldering one of these in, my AC has been running for several weeks now with no issues. I have four more for if this burns out again, too.If you have an HVAC that has power, but no air is coming through your vents/registers (and especially if you smell burnt plastic), you may have this problem. This ~$10 fix is much more cost-effective than a potential $1200 repair. The internet is an invaluable resource for diagnosing and resolving this type of problem, too.

Restored a $600 Variable Speed General Electric Electronically Controlled Motor (ECM) furnace blower
Replacement of a single thermistor restored a $600 Variable Speed General Electric Electronically Controlled Motor (ECM) furnace blower to operation. Once you get the blower motor out of the furnace blower casing, this is a relatively simple solder job. The current company that supplies ECMs of this type is GENISYS, GE sold the business in the late 2000's.
