Raw Batana Oil from Hondura
I've recently learned about banana oil to promote hair growth. I found it in a set of shampoo and conditioner, but with those, I just don't spend enough time massaging it into my scalp to work. This cream seems to be the answer. The instructions are to massage it into your scalp and leave it on for about 30 minutes before rinsing it off. It rinses off easily and it smells so good and makes my hair feel so soft. I've only been using it for about a week, so I can't speak to the new hair growth, but I have noticed that less hair comes out when I shampoo. I'm not sure if that's what's supposed to happen, but I'll take it.

Thick & creamy batana oil butter - A blend that also includes amla, castor, jojoba, & argan oils
I’d honestly never heard of batana oil before I’d ordered this… but I’m always looking for new hair & skin products to try out so I figured why not. Apparently batana oil is thicker & creamier than what I was expecting lol (which is definitely not a bad thing). And the scent is… interesting 🤷🏻♀️ It’s not a bad scent or anything… it’s just different.I have thick & frizzy hair. So, for the past few years I’ve been applying coconut oil to my hair about an hour or 2 before I’m going to be washing it. Then I use just shampoo to wash it as normal in the shower. (So no conditioners or anything like that). And this method has been working really well with my type of hair. Before I’d started doing this, I used to shampoo & condition my hair in the shower & then I would apply a little bit of coconut oil to it when I got out. However, my hair would end up looking a little bit greasy after about 2 days or so unless/until I washed it again. And my hair tends to be more on the frizzier right after a washing (& it also takes forever for it to dry), so I don’t like to wash it more than once or twice a week. I’ve shared all of this to say that I’m now going to replace the coconut oil with this batana oil to see if it’ll work any better with my hair 🤞🏼 It says that it stimulates the hair follicles & promotes hair growth. And over the past 5-6 years, it’s almost like my hair just decided to stop growing lol. And because of all the frizziness, breakage is also an issue with my hair type.I’ve only used this batana oil one time so far. And this is the type of product that needs to be used on a longer term basis in order to find out whether or not it actually does what it says it does. So I’m going to have to update my review in the future so I can share the actual results that I end up having after I’ve used this whole container. However, I did notice that my hair was thicker / “bushier” than it usually is after I’d used the batana oil for the first time. After my hair had dried completely by the next day, I ended up putting a very small amount of coconut oil into my hair just to “calm it down” a little bit, ha! So I’m not sure how I feel about this effect personally. But for those that have super thin/fine hair, I’d imagine that they’d likely enjoy this effect. We all have different hair types so what works for one person, might not work for another. But anywho, I’ll be back with an update once I finish this jar to share my results!

The Oil is Fine, The Smell Just So-So
As someone who was one a young person with very oily hair, it still sometimes suprises me to be an old person who needs to put oil on my hair and scalp. That said, I still have to be selective and to go easy with it because my hair is very fine. Some oils don't do me any favors. This one is a nice blend. It does seem to nourish my scalp and doesn't leave my hair so greasy and heavy that it's hard to wash out. The smell is mild. Not bad, but not particularly great either. Others have mentioned that batana oil normally has a burnt coffee smell. There's nothing like that here. There's a blend of oils so I think the primary smell is probably from the combination of castor oil and amla oil.If you're sensitive to things being on your scalp, wearing this overnight may feel itchy and dirty by morning, but it leaves your scalp feeling fresh and clean and your hair soft. I mostly put it on my hair when I wake up, leave it on while I relax with my morning coffee and then wash it off after an hour or so.The price of this isn't bad. It seems to be about a mid-range hair oil. I've seen lower prices to be sure, but I've also seen and used much higher-priced options.I will keep using this one until it's gone, but I'm not sure if I'll buy it again. I've used another oil, an Ayurvedic blend, that had a lovely smell, and this one, while not offensive, also doesn't make me think Wow, that's nice. And smell matters a lot to me.*Disclaimer: This review is part of Amazon's Vine Program which provides products at no upfront cost in exchange for honest and unbiased reviews.
