This Safety 1st pressure-check gate far surpassed my expectations! Installation was a breeze for starters. Everything comes boxed very well and is easy to identify and access, along with user friendly instructions, a photo guide, and some helpful tips to follow for proper installation! I followed the instructions exact and used the helpful tips included as well, and had this gate assembled and ready for use in a matter of minutes! This does come with an extension pack to fit larger doorways if needed. I didn't need them in the doorway I'm using but will hold onto to them if I change the location of the gate. A few good safety features on this one verses other similar gates; the handle has a slide and lift mechanism to open the gate. The handle won't lift if you don't slide it back, and the gate won't open. Much more difficult for a child to pick up on than just lifting the handle. It also features stoppers at the bottom of the gate. When left down the gate stays shut and doesn't open. To open the gate freely simply put the stoppers in an upright position. This has great visible red/green indicators for knowing you have the correct pressure on the gate. Those can be found at the top and bottom near the handle and the stoppers. This gate is designed to be both right and left handed depending on which way you place it in your doorway. The gate door swings open in both directions as well. Very audible clicking sound when the gate closes so you know it is securely latched shut. This is a tall gate and works great for little ones or pets! Very durable materials and built to last for years to come. I use this in my basement to keep my two little senior dogs off of the stairs while I'm down there doing laundry. This is a superb replacement for one of the standard wooden ones that was easily knocked over. My dogs eyesight isn't great and they have their fair share of physical difficulties when it comes to stairs so this allows them to still be within eyesight of me without any dangers of the stairs and this gate stands strong and they can't knock it down. Very pleased with the quality and functionality of this gate! Highly recommend!

We use this to separate our pets from our kitchen pantry, and it works perfectly. We can leave the door open or close it, and the dog can’t push it open because it has a latch you have to lift to open. It takes a few minutes to instal, but is worth the extra effort. It is much more stable than the old style plastic baby gates we had.

The baby gate is easy to use and install. It comes with extensions if you need it for a larger door way, In my case I did not need it. It's very easy for an adult to open and close with one hand.

I like the look of this gate in general, but the install is difficult, and it is easily knocked down. A determined enough child would get right out of this.

I got this for my infant. This gate is very easy to install. Even without drilling, it stays securely in place. It's easy to open/close with one hand. I feel confident my baby will be secure with this gate.

It really comes in handy but my daughter its already 3 and she is now able to jump over and its crazy cause she only used it for about 3 months.

The gate was easy enough to install although I did have to stare at the instructions a bit to fully work out what I needed to do. The bottom bumpers were the trickiest to install since they didn’t want to go in and then tightening them you don’t have the full range of motion.Opening the gate wasn’t super intuitive, but once I looked up how to do it, it’s pretty easy to open with one hand. The open and close isn’t quiet though, there’s a loud snap (startles my cat).I’m not sure how this design is considered pet friendly though. There’s no door for a cat or small animal to get through. I got this gate to give my cat a safe space once a dog takes up residence. I think this will do great at keeping the puppy out, but maybe not a smart dog who is big enough to jump over it. So far, my cat is not adjusting to the gate as easily as she had another one I’ve used in the past. She hasn’t even tried to jump over it but she has tried (and succeeded in) squeezing through the bars which are pretty tight.

Safety 1st has been a great name for baby safety gear for many years now - and this gate is another great addition to their catalog. Baby gates seem to have been fair static for a few years now - the design is mostly standardized on a few different options and they're either help in place by pressure or screwed in (NOTE - this is a pressure type gate which makes it suitable for between rooms or the bottom of the stairs ONLY, NEVER use a pressure gate at the TOP of the stairs, only a screw in type). And at first glance, this gate looks like a high quality pressure gate of normal design.And if that was it, I'd still recommend this gate for its high quality construction, durability and the solid name behind it. But this particular gate has a new innovation that makes it SO much easier to use. With prior gates, I was never quite sure if I had the pressure right, so I would just screw it as tight as I could and hope for the best. With THIS gate, I can easily see if it's tight (green) or not (red) and adjust appropriately - no worries if I got it right! That's a huge step forward. The latch is also nicely designed to be easier to operate (for an adult) one handed, which is helpful when you're carrying around baby as well.So if you could use a nicely designed, innovative baby gate for between rooms or the BOTTOM of a flight of stairs, this is a great one to check out.
