Seeing mixed reviews, I wasn't sure about whether this would work or not. I went to a wool shop to look for a replacement and they said it couldn't be done and the whole zip would need to be replaced but I thought I'd try and just send it back if no good.Yes instructions are in French but I used Google translate, I dropped a star as the little red lever snapped when trying to open the zipper but I just got a flat head screwdriver and popped it open, popped it on my dress with a pliers ready to close it back but it just clicked shut and as you can see my denim dress is now back to being respectable wearing. Perfect and very easy, I'm not a crafty person, can't see or knit a stitch!

Rescued a beloved old coat! For the ease of use it was well worth the money. Simply clicks open and you clip it shut over the zip

Instructional copy written in French, but the images illustrate exactly what you need to do. I found it very simple and straightforward, but it was a bit expensive. Still far cheaper than a new coat though!

My son broke the zip on his new coat. Nothing could be done at the dressmakers because of the way the zip was sewn in and positioned. The thought of binning an expensive coat brought me to Amazon and this zip solution.The zip is sturdy and works a treat.However the instructions are amongst the worst I have ever seen.The red wedge will actually open the zip up exceptionally wide so that application is easy but it is so stiff it took me ages and in fact I opened the zip with a fork.As said application is easy and it works well and is a fabulous alternative to getting rid of a coat or getting a zip replaced.

This product was easy to fit it saved having to fit a new zip as this would have been expensive ,good product. Just make sure get the correct size it should be stamped on the old zip.

I had a broken slider on my jacket so the zip was stuck at the top. I had to cut it off in the end as the only way to open the jacket so I was delighted to find this product that was so easy to use. Trick bit is measuring your existing zip and even though I had found the 5R code on the zip in my jacket, I was still a bit nervous that the zlideon would fit so I researched zip sizes to make sure. No need to worry though as I had popped it on seconds after opening the packet and the jacket was good as new. I'll be using this product again if I ever have another faulty zip.

Take care not to make my mistake. In opening the packet I let the fitting drop on the (hard) floor, and the impact closed the mechanism. I gave up trying to prise it apart again for fear of wrecking it, and in the end fitted it as you would a conventional replacement slider by removing one of stoppers at the head of the zip. That said, it works a treat: my expensive jacket is as good as new.
