Beautiful Kettle if Used Properly
I did a lot of research before purchasing the Fellow Stagg stovetop kettle, especially at this price point. 4 months later, it still looks beautiful and works great. To address a few concerns I read in other reviews that I have not experienced with my kettle:1) The handle is sturdy and *does not* melt when used properly. I have a gas stove and use it every morning, usually at about 4-5 heat setting. As others have pointed out, you should not use full heat on this. In fact, when getting rid of my other, older stainless steel kettle, I saw on the bottom a similar warning. In other words, this is standard and what you should be doing regardless of kettle brand.2) I went with the copper variation rather than the painted black or white kettle so I cannot comment on “peeling.” Mine still looks great!3) The temperature gage works like a charm. No interior condensation or misreadings. It’s possible others had a faulty thermometer, not the case with mine. All in all, a beautiful and reliable kettle that has held up wonderfully for me. Highly recommended!

keep the Copper
This is a well-designed piece, pours with accuracy, has a nice finish, good balance, and quick functionality (heats well). The color of the copper finish seems a bit off (too red), it is a surface treatment and not 100% copper. The thermometer is very useful and can be replaced if broken. Overall a nice addition to your hot water experiences.

Great little kettle (and I do mean little)
This is much smaller than I had realized (my fault should have read the actual ounces it holds). But otherwise this is a very solid kettle. The top doesn't stay on very well if you try to pour the last bit of water out, it has fallen off repeatedly which is frustrating because sometimes that water will then also spill. I am not sure if it's because they didn't design the lid to handle the weight of the thermometer that sits in the top or what. It's a little disappointing the pay the price that this brand charges and then have the lid fall off. The handle stays cool and the copper color is beautiful. As long as you follow the instructions on the flame the handle should not melt, if someone's has melted they must have used to high of a flame or set the kettle so that the heat from the flame was too close to it. FYI this can happen on any kettle with a plastic handle, do not let user error dissway you. Make sure to read how much it holds before buying though that is possibly something that could be a legitimate reason to not buy this.

This the prefect kettle for poor over coffee or even tea
This the prefect kettle for poor over coffee or even tea. It looks great, and the addition of the thermometer in the lid makes easy to make a perfect cup of coffee or tea. The spout is even a perfect diameter and length for a well controlled pout. It is balanced very well, making it easy to control no matter how full it is. The handle stays cool, but you just have to make sure an errant finger or thumb does not slide on to the small bit of metal at the top of the handle where the handle coating stops.

A good upgrade
This review is for the copper finished version. Originally I had purchased a coffee gator kettle which was of cheaper construction, rattled around on the induction cooker, and then ended up with a shattered handle after 1 use. This product is of a much higher quality. Finish appears to be flawless. I appreciate that the inside is mostly seamless (unlike many of the others) with only a slight seam where the spout connects. The handle is welded on so no worries about it coming loose. Plastic portion of the handle seems to be a "rubberized" plastic which should prevent it from shattering if I happen to drop it. I like the fact that the thermometer is removable (and replaceable if need be). I'm using this on an induction cooker. Unlike my previous kettle, this one makes no rattling or buzzing noises. Higher priced than most, but the build quality reflects the premium.

Great copper clad water kettle
Beautiful kettle and used every day to make tea. This is our second one. We'll made.

Stylish but copper coating is thin
Forget that this is on your gas burner for five minutes and it'll be irreparably burned. And because the copper coating is very thin, you can't use normal copper-cleaning methods on this kettle.Beautiful but deceptively so. The Fellows website, as of the writing of this review, says that "normal daily use on cooking ranges . . . will damage finish on bottom of kettle." If they know that, they should build a more durable product.

This is the best - I tried the rest
Stunning, the best there is. I am sadly one of those Amazon shoppers who orders ALL the choices and then returns the rest. So that’s what I did — all the kettles you’re looking at? Bought them. It wasn’t even close the Stagg kettle is infinitely better. It’s a conversational piece for everyone who walks into the kitchen and the daily use is just Amazon. No, the handle doesn’t melt off, no the thermometer doesn’t fog up. It’s perfect. I clean it with copper wipes and it keeps it’s appearance.
