Great light, just not for me..
Love LED Lenser, I have multiple headlights from them. I thought this one looked very interesting, so I got one, and gave it a try. It does exactly as advertised, and is very unique with its auto adjustable beam. However, I had it more in mind for a constant 900 lumen output. It does this, and it's adjustable, but if you leave it there, it will get HOT. I took it off after about 2.5 hours, and it was almost too hot to touch. I can't imagine what this does to the internal, non-replaceable battery. It was not hot on my forehead, it has a nice insulator pad that comes with it.Overall, an excellent light that does what it says...hands down. I also found it to be quite front heavy on my head...and not at first. It does come with a top band, which I did use, but it's just a tad bit heavy on the front for me, for longer periods.I would imagine with a "normal" camping or outdoors application, this light could be a game-changer. Just didn't meet my needs/wants from a headlight. It may be your dream light!

Could have been Soo much better
I don't want to discourage you from getting this lamp so far it's not too bad but ..... The blinking light when you change the focus is super annoying and unnecessary. They needed to add a second wheel for brightness control and just have the single button activate the adaptive setting. Only having low medium and high setting no fade or dimming feels very outdated these days. And it really needs a rear battery pack I feel like I'm going to fall forward wearing this thing. USB c charging!!! What were they thinking with this lame proprietary cable??? With that said I would buy again.

90% love the headlamp for working
The media could not be loaded. This is a hell of a work light. No double about it. I've been through dozens of headlamps of different brands and qualities since I moved off-grid some years ago. I often have to either work on projects late into the night to get things done, check on animals at night, walk the property, or deal with something when it breaks at any time of day. This one rocks in ALL those tasks. Even just walking the dog is great. The light is comfortable on my head, hat or bare skull. I mean like actually comfortable for long term wear. The split headband in the back helps spread out of the stress point and makes it comfortable all around. Build quality of the light itself is hefty and feels like it is worth the 130$ price tag. EVEN with that quality it doesn't get uncomfortable to wear that weight on my head.Magnetic charging is easy to use and stays attached. This does mean it's a closed battery and I can't find any information about the expected life cycle of the batteries inside the lamp. It comes with a 5 year warranty, registering at their website adds an extra 2 years to the warranty, but still after looking around I couldn't find any information about what is covered if my battery capacity starts to fail in a couple years. Anyone with a smart phone knows what I'm talking about. Given this is a light meant for work that means you theoretically could be expecting to use this 5 times a week 50 weeks a year. That's a lot of cycles. The wall mount, and hat mounts are really choice additions. The hat mount fits well onto my arborist helmets I wear when working with timber up here. The wall mount I have set near the front door so it's easy to access and always charged. Now with all that said I do have a bit of issues with the light.First the app. It's neat, and it's touted as a reason to buy the light here on the product page. What you don't find out until you have the light, download the app, and connect your light is that 1/2 or more of the functions are locked behind a paywall. I mean you just paid 130$ for your headlamp and then you're asked to pay 9$ more to unlock functions in the app for the light that they sold you on here on the product page without mentioning it's a paywall thing. Now outside of this my issue is with the adaptive lighting. It's a neat function and nearly all the time it's great. I look out ahead it get a nice strong spot. I look down at what I'm working on close-by and it softens and spreads out. Great. Here is the issue though. I'm not sure if anyone checked how this works when it comes to wearing it in the cold but what happens is that your own breath in the cold will trigger the adaptive lighting over and over causing the light to swap back and froth between longer range spot and dimmer soft large focus. I'm not sure how this will have an effect on the life of the system constantly cycling like that, but I can say it's annoying while I'm standing and working in the cold. It's already dipping close to the 30's up here and I just expect this will get more noticeable as winter sets in soon. Just something to keep in mind when you're making your decision. With the bit of negatives I have about the light I'd still buy it again if I was making this choice right now.

Stick to manual brightness controls!
LED LENSER products are generally well worth every penny! Quality built and durable. This review is against the “smart light” tech! Cool idea, horrible execution! Super aggravating constantly changing causing distractions and eye strain! Likely a me problem. This is probably brilliant for someone! I want to throw this headlamp every time I use it! I’ve had several others, currently have four other manual models. I’ll use every single one of them until the batteries die and force me to wear this one!
